About Us:
The Assiniboine-Qu’Appelle Valleylands Inc. is a Manitoba and Saskatchewan partnership of over 30 municipalities and First Nation Communities near the Assiniboine and Qu’Appelle rivers.
The partnership, with support from regional economic development organizations, spearheads a grassroots initiative involving business, tourism, conservation and community organizations. Their goal is to develop the scenic, tourism, recreation, historic and cultural resources of the area and provide a premier travel destination for visitors to discover and explore.
Find Yourself where the SKY meets the LAND:
The Assiniboine - Qu’Appelle Valleylands is an 11,000 square kilometre adventure and discovery region in the heart of the Manitoba and Saskatchewan prairie and Aspen Parklands.
Over centuries, the historic Assiniboine River, which flows north to south through the region, has carved a spectacular valley that in turn is joined by the broad and winding valley of the Qu’Appelle River which flows into the Assiniboine from the west.
These rivers and their many tributaries have created a world of scenic, friendly and fascinating valleylands that are easy to reach with lots to do, explore and experience whether you take just a few hours or several days.

The driving or cycling tour offers three distance options – 25, 40 and 75 kilometres, all starting and ending in Ohla and focusing on the history of Ukrainian settlement in the region. The tours feature several interesting settlement-related sites in close proximity and most of the route follows well-maintained gravel roads with low traffic volumes making it safe for both motorists and cyclists. The area’s location between Asessippi Provincial Park and Riding Mountain National Park make it ideal for cyclists looking for a new day-trip destination who already frequent these parks.
